Our story, our values, our community.
Tabaka Academy is a rural primary school in Tabaka Ward, Kisii County — a region world-renowned for its rich soapstone heritage and an even richer commitment to learning.

A family legacy of education
In the 1970s, Mzee Abuya Daudi Tamaro and Mama Celina Bonareri Abuya founded Kenya Tutorial College — an institution that helped countless young people complete their education at a time when the doors of learning were closed to many.
That same passion lives on at Tabaka Academy. Our founders believed that every child — regardless of background, ability, or means — deserves a chance at quality basic education. Today, we carry that belief into every classroom.
Set in the heart of Tabaka Village, our school is shaped by the warmth of our community and the natural beauty of the Kisii highlands.
